The Glasgow School of Art is internationally recognised as one of Britain's foremost higher education institutions for the study and advancement of fine art, design and architecture and owners of one of Europe's most important buildings of the 20th century, the Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art.
As such, we receive a large volume of filming and photography requests from freelance individuals, media and commercial organisations.
All requests need to be considered with the utmost regard to our staff, students and visitors.
Should you wish to film or take photographs at The School for press, freelance projects or commercial purposes, please read the points detailed below:
How to Gain Permission
To gain permission to film or take photographs whatever your purpose, you should:
- Complete the the Filming, Photography and Journalist Request Form (word document)
- Send this via email to the Media Relations Officer at least two weeks prior to recce and/or prosed date for shooting. Please note that requests not received with at least two weeks notice may not be able to be accomodated
Filming recce's, filming shoots and photography will be permitted Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm at any of the GSA buildings and facilities. Should you require to film outside of these hours please inform us on your request form. Additional charges may apply depending on the circumstances.
Note that ALL permissions to film and take photographs at The School should go via the Marketing and Communications Office. If you have been in contact with a member of staff or student at The Glasgow School of Art directly, please also contact the Media Relations Officer to complete a request form. We reserve the right to refuse any requests where the parties have not had prior contact with the Media Relations Officer at the Marketing and Communications Office.
