At the Glasgow School of Art, we offer our students a unique accommodation experience during their time in halls with common area spaces, equipment and events designed specifically for their needs. New undergraduate and postgraduate (Glasgow Campus) students to the institution will have the opportunity to stay in one of our purpose-built sites; Blythswood House or Margaret Macdonald House. With both sites being located within a 3-5 minute walking distance of the main Garnethill campus, our city centre halls of residence make a fantastic choice for new students to explore the city of Glasgow and be within a close proximity to The Glasgow School of Art.
Alongside our own accommodation, NEW for session 2023/24 we will provide a third option for housing in partnership with a private PBSA provider. This will offer an alternative option to GSA housing and is an excellent choice for our Postgraduate community. This option offers a brilliant standard of housing and an array of facilities that can be accessed 24/7. The PBSA is very close to our own halls, centrally located for shopping and the Glasgow social scene and 3 minutes from campus.
Students at our Forres (Highlands Campus) can stay at The Royal, Knockomie or a variety of private flats in the town of Forres.
At The Glasgow School of Art, we understand that moving to a new home can be a daunting experience. We aim to make our students experience as stress free as possible by understanding their needs and being as flexible as possible during the application process and once they have arrived at their accommodation. Our halls of residence have valuable inter-departmental links with the rest of the school including departments such as Student Support Services, Finance, Student Association, Student Societies and GSA Sustainability.
SESSION 24/25 - Applications to GSA Halls
If you are an offer holder at GSA we will be in touch with you by email within a few days of your offer being made. The initial email will signpost you to these pages for more information and help you decide if GSA halls are right for you and if you want to apply. The email will offer instructions for you to register an account with GSA Halls Portal and allow you to apply.
