Up-to-date details of our annual fees for all our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are available from the Finance Office. Our Fees Policy is available here.

Fees shown below are for new students starting in Academic Year 2023/24. Please note that continuing student fees will be advised directly.

Academic Year 2023/24

Undergraduate

Scottish (Home) Students  

£1,820 annual fee.

£910 for the Professional Practice Year Out (Architecture).

Scottish Students should contact the Student Awards Agency For Scotland for information on assistance with paying tuition fees, and any living cost support that may be available. SAAS.

Rest of UK Students (England, Wales and Northern Ireland fee - including Channel Isles and Isle of Man)

£9,250 annual fee (capped at £27,750 for students studying Fine Art and Design entering into Year 1 and completing Year 4, or £37,000 for students entering Year 1 and completing Year 5 - Product Design and Product Design Engineering). 

Students progressing from the BArch (Hons) Architecture at GSA to Diploma in Architecture will be eligible for the 10% alumni discount.

£520 for BArch (Hons) students undertaking their Professional Practice Year Out (PPYO).

Students from the Republic of Ireland

Irish students will be eligible to pay the Rest of UK rate stated above.

Students from the rest of the European Union (excluding Republic of Ireland)

On 9 July 2020 the decision was made by the Scottish Government to end entitlement to the Scottish tuition rate for EU students starting in Academic Year 2021/22 onwards.

EU nationals with settled/pre-settled status in the UK , or those students continuing on programmes of higher education they have already commenced - e.g. progressing from HNC/HND to degree - will continue to be eligible for the Scottish Students tuition fee shown above, providing they also meet the residency requirements found here.

EU nationals and associated groups (without settled/pre-settled status) starting a course of study in Academic Year 2021/22 or later will be classed as International Students and your tuition fee is shown below.

Students should consult GSA's scholarship pages for details of any tuition scholarships, including ones specifically for European Students, for which they might be eligible.

International Undergraduate Students (including EU nationals and associated groups without settled/pre-settled status)

  • Full-degree/ International Foundation students £21,360 per year. This fee will be fixed for the duration of the programme.
  • Professional Practice Year Out fee £910.

Study Abroad Student Tuition Fee (International including EU nationals and associated groups without settled/pre-settled status)

  • Full Year £18,480.
  • Semester Fee £9,240.

Postgraduate Taught and Research Programmes

Scottish (Home) Students

  • Most one-year taught Masters £8,820 (for part-time students this is charged at £490 per 10 credit course across the duration of the programme).
  • MSc Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy £12,240 (taking the programme over two-years part-time students will pay £6,120 each year - the fee being the same in both years).
  • Two-year taught Masters £8,820 p.a. Fee will be the same in both years of study.
  • Diploma in Architecture £1,820 - Please refer to the Undergraduate fee listed above.
  • Research degrees £5,580 per year. Fee will remain at this level in all years of study.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in the Creative Disciplines/Postgraduate Certificate in Supervisory Practices in the Creative Disciplines £2,940.

Rest of UK Students (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)

  • Most one-year taught Masters £8,820 (for part-time students this is charged at £490 per 10 credit course across the duration of the programme).
  • MSc Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy £12,240 (taking the programme over two-years, part-time students will pay £6,120 each year - the fee being the same in both years).

  • Diploma in Architecture: Students who began their undergraduate degree on or before 1 September 2011, with three or fewer years between Bachelor and Diploma: £1,820, see above for Bachelor fees; Students with a relevant date of 1 September 2012 - 1 September 2016 (with three or fewer years between Bachelor and Diploma) £9,000; other students £9,250
  • Research degrees £5,580 per year. Fee will remain at this level in all years of study.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in the Creative Disciplines/Postgraduate Certificate in Supervisory Practices in the Creative Disciplines: £7,560.

Students from the Republic of Ireland

Students from the Republic of Ireland with relevant residency will be eligible to pay the Rest of UK students rates shown above.

International Postgraduate Students (including EU nationals and associated groups without settled/pre-settled status)

  • Most one-year Masters programmes - £22,680.
  • MSc Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy - £29,520.
  • Two-year taught Masters programmes - £22,680 per year. Fee will be the same in both years.
  • Research Degrees - £18,480 per year. Fee will remain the same in all years of study

Part-time student fees will be the appropriate proportion of the full-time fee.

 

Alumni Discount

If you have completed your undergraduate degree at the GSA, or you have attended as a Study Abroad Exchange student, you are eligible for a 10% discount on programme fees for a masters degree programme. This discount also applies to RUK and International students progressing from BArch (Hons) to the Diploma in Architecture.

Students who complete a masters degree programme at GSA will also be eligible for a 10% discount on PhD fees. Students wishing to take advantage of this discount should contact the Finance Office on +44(0) 141 353 4579 or fees@gsa.ac.uk.

Other Costs

You should budget for each year of your programme of study and should allow for costs over and above your fees and maintenance.

Specific indicative additional costs are available on each programme page, which also include information on studio and workshop access, technical services, media studio, library services, digital software and IT, and student support.

International students and postgraduate students

When you have accepted your offer of a place to study at the GSA you will be required to pay a deposit:

  • £2,000 for international degree students,
  • £750 for Study Abroad and Home/RUK/ Republic of Ireland postgraduate students.

Your deposit will be deducted from the balance of your tuition fees on enrolment.

Please note we will not be able to issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for visa processing until this deposit is received. Where programmes are over-subscribed we will not be able to guarantee your place until the deposit is paid.

Any offer made to a prospective student will be subject to the condition that the School will require payment of tuition fees in respect of each academic year of the student's period of study at the School.
