Glasgow School of Art Sport is a new grass roots association run by students with an aim to encourage sport and activity throughout the university. Since it began in 2013, we have continued to grow year on year, and now proudly have 13 different sports clubs affiliated. We also encourage all our members to join our community outwith their sporting activity and meet each other through various social events throughout the year.

We are always looking to develop more activities at the GSA, and welcome you to contact us through email at gsasportsociety@gmail.com, or through our facebook page if you would like to be involved in any way!

Clubs

Hockey |

We are currently a mixed men and women’s team of all abilities. Our program consists of training and organised friendly’s and social events.

Surf and Wakeboard |

We are the home of extreme water sport, offering trips to various breaks on both the east and west coast of Scotland with opportunities for lessons, suitable for first timers right through to seasoned pros. We also offer cable wakeboard training right in the heart of the city centre at Glasgow Wakepark, Further afield trips on the cards Join our Facebook page to stay steezy and up to date!

Roller Society |

The roller skating society is pleased to start off a new season. Very beginner friendly, don't hesitate to come even for just a trial! The society is mainly about having fun altogether and gain some stability on wheels in order to learn new tricks. We go fornightly to RollerStop, where we can skate under disco lights and good tunes, and from time to time we would like to go some Roller Derby events! See ya later skater!

Mountaineering |

This is a group for all GSA students (and anyone else for that matter) who wish to be part of a social group that climb, walk, hike, scramble, camp and generally enjoy being in the great outdoors! None of us claim to be professionals, but we practice our sports together, as safely as possible, learning from one another as we progress. Now let's get out there and enjoy ourselves!!

Yoga |

GSA Yoga welcomes students for all levels of yoga; from beginners to expert yogis! We currently offer 4 different yoga classes a week, as well as one pilates class.

Canoeing |

We made up of a group of students with a passion for white water kayaking. We offer the opportunity to experience water sports like white water rafting, gorge walking, canyoning and canoeing. We have a strong network of students across the different GSA disciplines who all share a love for water and in particular water sports – sharing their experience in different areas and pushing themselves to try new things at the same time.

Football |

This is the Glasgow School of Art Football Club (GSA FC). Players of any experience, and any gender, are welcome to join.

Rugby |

Fun, social rugby for all levels, playing 7s, 10s and 15s tournaments and friendlies throughout the year

Netball |

We are a fully welcoming team 'coached’ by team members that meet up on Wednesdays to play netball. We play for fun but with possibilities of Glasgow Universities league games this year if interest is shown at training. Having only started at the beginning of 2017 we’ve grown as a club solely this year! Open to all, open to new ideas and always welcoming new members! OPEN TO ALL.

Boxing |

Open to all levels of experience from complete beginners to seasoned fighters. Join the group and come along to the class whether its to get fit, learn how to fight or just brush up on your skills.

Golf |

Interested in playing golf? Join the club which is open for all skills and levels!

Basketball |

Do you enjoy playing basketball? Our club is open for everyone! If you would like to spend at least once a week playing basketball at an indoor court than our club is the answer. Our basketball club will put you in perfect spot to meet new people and give you the opportunity to compete and develop skills. We are a social and relaxed basketball club where you can all just pitch in and play ball. Please join our facebook group for more information!

GSA Badminton club, Equipment provided and all levels are welcomed!
