The wider impact of the result of the UK's EU referendum on 24 June 2016 is still being clarified but please be assured that Universities UK / Universities Scotland are proactively working with the UK and Scottish Governments to minimise the disruption caused by this decision to the UK research and higher education sector, and to work to secure an outcome from negotiations which ensures continued cooperation and collaboration between the UK and European Member States. This outcome may eventually have a number of implications for Scotland’s universities but the GSA would like to assure EU students and UK students studying in the EU that nothing changes overnight as a result of this referendum result:
Current EU students Please be assured that your immigration status and associated fee status has not changed as a result of the vote.
EU students with a place to start at GSA in academic year 2016/17 and 2017/18 At this stage there is no reason to assume that there will be any change to either your immigration status or your ability to study in the UK.
Universities Scotland is seeking clarification in terms of tuition fee grant and/or access to loans from the Scottish Government and the GSA will keep students informed of any updates on this page and by e-bulletin.
